1. Introduction

Welcome to BioSnap ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the BioSnap mobile application and related services (the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Account info: username, email, password (hashed), avatar, and profile details.
Photos & media: images you capture for animal identification, along with optional location and timestamp metadata.
Gameplay data: your collection, ratings, battles, purchases of in-game currency, chest openings, store activity, and other in-app events.
Device & usage data: device model, operating system, IP address, app version, crash logs, and analytics events.
Device identifiers: advertising identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS and GAID on Android), device IDs, and other identifiers used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.

3. How We Use Your Information

To identify animals you photograph using our AI models.
To run gameplay features: collections, ratings, chests, store, and battles versus friends or AI.
To process in-game currency purchases and prevent fraud.
To show ads, measure ad performance, and understand how users interact with BioSnap.
To improve the Service, debug issues, and develop new features.
To send service notifications and, where you have consented, marketing messages.

4. Advertising, Analytics, and Measurement

BioSnap uses third-party services to show ads, measure their performance, and understand app usage. These services help us keep the app free and improve your experience.

Google AdMob: Used to display ads and measure ad performance.
Meta/Facebook App Events: Used to measure app usage, ad effectiveness, and understand how players engage with BioSnap.

These partners may collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and app interaction data to deliver and measure ads, provide analytics, and personalize advertising where permitted.

5. Device Identifiers and Tracking

We and our advertising and analytics partners may collect device identifiers, including advertising identifiers (such as IDFA and GAID), and information about how you interact with the app. This information may be used for:

Advertising measurement and attribution.
Analytics and understanding app usage.
Personalized advertising, where you have permitted it.
Fraud prevention and security.

This is consistent with Apple's App Privacy disclosure: Device IDs are collected and used for Third-Party Advertising and Analytics, and are used for tracking.

6. Apple App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, you may see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether to allow BioSnap to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You can choose "Ask App Not to Track" without losing access to BioSnap's core features. If you decline, we will not access your device's advertising identifier for tracking purposes, but you will still see ads that may be less relevant to you.

7. Your Choices

You have choices about how your information is used:

iOS tracking permission: You can change your choice at any time in your iPhone's Settings by going to Privacy & Security → Tracking, then tapping BioSnap.
Advertising preferences: On iOS, you can reset your advertising identifier or turn off ad personalization in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising. On Android, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Account data: You can delete your account and associated data from the in-app settings at any time.

8. Sharing and Third-Party Partners

We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. However, as described above, we do share certain information with service providers and partners to operate, improve, and support the Service.

Google / AdMob: Advertising and ad measurement. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and Google Advertising Policies.
Meta / Facebook: Analytics and app event measurement. Learn more in Meta's Privacy Policy.
Apple, Google, and RevenueCat: Processing of in-app purchases and subscriptions.
AI providers: Processing photos you submit for animal identification.
Analytics providers: Understanding app usage and performance.
Authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights and users.

9. Children

BioSnap is not directed to children under 13. Players under the age of majority in their region should use BioSnap only with parental consent.

10. Data Retention

We keep account and gameplay data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from in-app settings. Some information may be retained for a limited period afterward for security, fraud prevention, and legal purposes.

11. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.

12. Wildlife Safety Notice

BioSnap is designed to be used from a safe distance. We do not encourage, condone, or authorize approaching, provoking, or interacting with dangerous or wild animals. You are solely responsible for your own safety and the safety of others when using the Service around wildlife. We are not responsible for any injury, harm, or damages arising from your interaction with animals.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or on our website.
